Are you looking to purchase and 11×17 copier soon? It’s a fairly common need, but not one to be taken lightly. Adding tabloid printing to a copier can raise the price around $3,000. So how do you know that you’re making the right decision?
Some departments may be printing 11×17 and others may never touch it. As you asses your needs keep in mind that there is a breaking point at roughly 10%. So if you are printing more than 10% of on tabloid sized sheets then it’s a valid consideration. If your below that, then you need to consider if convenience is worth the added cost. Of course the 10% rule is only a starting point, if you print in high volume, then it could be lower than 10%. This is just a rule of thumb that you may find handy while you shop.
